Slide in or fixed to the Unimog chassis, this unit has
been designed and built by Mross Import Service Ltd. in conjunction with professionals
experienced in brush and wild fire fighting. It is specially suited for
initial attack and mop-up situations where a unit with high off-road capability
is required. Because water is always scarce in wildfire scenarios, a compressed
air foam system (CAFS) is installed to increase the effectiveness even more. With
a 0.2% to 0.6% mixture of environmentally safe chemicals, you now are able to
fight fire in a very effective way for extended periods. It allows you
to increase the extinguishing capacity of your on board water 20 to 40 fold.
The
Ultimate Fire Fighting Unimog
A front-mounted winch quickly
removes and can be exchanged for a snow plow or other implements to make it effective
for off-road conditions where access is difficult.
The
Tank
The whole structural design of the tank is built from 1/4
inch marine grade aluminum to minimize maintenance and maximize longevity.
The entire CAFS unit is on a roll-in and out tray for service purposes. The unit
is mountable on a U1350L - U1550L, 130 - 260 hp. Pump unit is 25hp diesel,
with 90 to 110 gallon pumping capacity and approx. 3000 litre (850 US gallon)
water tank capacity. Other pump (CAFS unit) can be installed according
to customer's specifications.
This special self-contained fire-fighting
equipment was mounted on a Unimog U 1450 chassis. Among other items, the
vehicle features a 2,800 litre water tank, a 360 degree foam monitor and a self-protection
system built into the chassis and around the cab. As you can see in the pictures
the Unimog has many other applications as well such as a refuling tanker and
fire supply storage truck.
Fully
Self Contained
This completely self-contained fire-fighting equipment was
mounted on a Unimog U 2450 chassis. The vehicle was purchased new and fitted
with fire fighting equipment to customer's specifications.
The ideal addition to any fire-fighting unit is the self
contained fire-fighting trailer, complete with hoses, pump and extra storage.
This portable unit can be pulled right to where it is needed the most.
